Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a form of diagnosis using muscle testing as the primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person’s body is functioning. The Applied Kinesiologist finds a muscle that tests weak and determines why that muscle is not functioning properly. AK allows the skilled health practitioner to evaluate functional illness, which typically precedes disease. Its use allows immediate feedback, aiding the doctor in making decisions on what type of care the patient needs. The practitioner evaluates and applies the therapy that will best eliminate the muscle weakness and help the patient.
AK draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, providing an interdisciplinary approach to health care. It allows the doctor to quickly focus in on the cause of the problem, so that treatment can be direct, purposeful and effective.
