Myofascial Release addresses the fascial restrictions caused by injury, overuse, flat feet, poor posture, and TMJ dysfunction, among others. Every muscle is surrounded by a layer of fascia. While muscles have an origin and insertion, fascia is continuous throughout the body. It runs along pathways that begin in the plantar fascia of the foot and lead all the way up to the neck and head. Any fixation, or sticky spot, along the path of the fascia can manifest as pain in distant areas of the body.
