Physiotherapy describes a broad scope of therapeutic procedures aimed at reducing pain, inflammation and muscle spasm. It also incorporates aspects of rehabilitation directed towards optimizing biomechanical function. It includes, but is not limited to; ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, proprioceptive training, core strengthening, neuro-muscular reeducation, post-isometric relaxation, trigger point therapy. Physiotherapy is a perfect compliment to chiropractic care in that it accelerates pain relief and contributes to restabilization in the active phase of care.
