The OLYMPICS, with all of its ups and downs, victories and heartbreaks, smiles and cries, will always hold a special place for me.
With several good friends, I had the honor of working at the '96 Olympic games in Atlanta, GA. I was stationed at the Georgia dome, was courtside when Kerri Strug did her famous vault with a broken foot. I met so many stars; Jerry Seinfeld, Larry David, Dennis Hopper to name a few. Though the most meaningful interaction was a smile and a nod from the GOAT himself, Muhammad Ali, on his way to light the torch.
And the athletes...through blood, sweat and tears, sheer grit and a dream, they showed up and gave all they had in their moment of glory. Medals are beautiful. But maybe the bigger win is finding the strength to do the work it takes for even a chance to step up and compete in front of the whole world.
